Rapid Ramp-Ups, Part 1
July 29th, 2005
This month’s column over at the Fast Company/Inc hiring site is Rapid Ramp-Ups. I don’t think treating hiring like a project is new, but some people have remarked on that in the past. Please leave comments here.

Hiring someone is NOT a project…
Projects take time — I know, I’ve done a lot of them ( of course, getting hired as a project manager is different story entirely — it’s impossible.)
How can “hiring” be a project anyway if you ONLY read a person’s resume for LESS THAN 30 SECONDS !!!
Bottom Line — It’s not a project, it’s an excersize in personalities and economics…

Bull…
You should hire your friends, relatives, and anyone out of state you can find. Forget the locals and go with people you can’t possibly interview.
